Wow, the East Bay Express picked my band as Oakland's chance to "make it." Scroll down a bit, but yeah, right on.

Back on tour, sitting in Portland waiting for my iced coffee and bagel. Had some drinks last night while my friend Dan spun funk/soul records and really funny looking white guys in shorts tried to dance. Damn, I love Portland.

(listening to: Minus The Bear: Highly Refined Pirates)

philadelphia, penn.

It's been a great two days at home in Oakland, but I'm heading back out on tour in an hour or so, jetting up the West Coast to Portland tonight, playing a huge rock show tomorrow (with Minus the Bear, The Blood Brothers, and These Arms Are Snakes, phew!), then heading to Seattle on Sunday before returning to SF on Tuesday to play for the hometown crowd. All our remaining shows are with Minus The Bear (think a cross between The Dismemberment Plan and Juno). Check out the MP3 of the week for a little sampling of their goodness, or check out Monkey! Knife! Fight! from their new album.

Last night we had a massive porch-b-que out front with music and beer and atomic hot sausages for all. It was great seeing friends again after being on the road for so long, and I enjoyed myself under the cool night sky.

(listening to: Steely Dan: Greatest Hits)

I'm home from tour for a couple of days before heading up to Portland. It's sad, but I'm making pasta and listening to Steely Dan. Ouch.
