(listening to: Superchunk: Majestic Single)

New MP3 of the week (from like two days ago, forgot to mention it). I love love *love* Buck Owens' 'On The Bandstand' LP. I found it in a thrift store in Fairfield, California, still wrapped in plastic, and that thing sounds *fine*. Miss Rodeo America and I tried to go to Buck's Crystal Palace in Bakersfield a year-and-a-half back, but it was closed (and kinda creepy looking, now that I think about it). My favorite part about 'Cotton Fields,' and most of Buck's songs, are the harmonies by Mr. Don Rich (RIP), such hot shit.

Tonight we're actually going to a Noisepop 2004 show in San Francisco to see The Court & Spark play. Their new album comes out in August, and I heard the first three songs and they're totally fabulous. Tomorrow's the (sold out) Communique show for Noisepop, which is our first show in 3 months. The good news is, we finally approved the masters today for our new LP due out in May. That means the thing is *done*.

Oh, and I might actually make it down to Austin for SXSW this year, so give me a shout if you'll be there and can get me into shows, since I won't have a pass. Dinnertime!

(listening to: The Wrens: Live on KEXP)

Damn, it's raining like the dickens today, time to lock myself inside and load up the old iPod with my vinyl collection!

The Wrens played live on KEXP in Seattle on Friday, and you can listen to the stream here. Sounds good.

I always like seeing photos that other people take of my hood, so it was good to see Gritmedia's San Francisco photos this morning. It also reminded me that I haven't been to either the 500 Club or Doc's Clocks (one of my favorite old haunts) in a really long time.

Don't know if I mentioned this or not, but you can view the Communique video for 'Cross Your Heart' now on Yahoo! Launch. It's the best stream I've seen so far, waaaaaaaaay better than the crappy format at MTV.com

Time to make more coffee.
